The big boys — KFC, McDonalds and Marrybrown — were already here, up and running. But that didn’t deter Sunil Cherian from setting up a Burger franchise.
Cherian started his burger shop outside a college in Chennai three years ago. Now, his brand, ‘Burger Man‘ is a recognised one in the city.
His kiosks (all on franchise though) are present in front of all the large retail outlets — Nilgiris, Reliance Fresh, Spencer’s and Big Bazaar.
Burger Man has 100 outlets spread across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh selling more than 5,000 burgers a day. The chain is looking at a turnover of Rs 5 crore in the current year. How did the start-up make it? Read full story.
