Copeland’s May Bring 2 Restaurants To Birmingham

The Birmingham News – al.com:

A franchise operator could open not one but two Copeland’s of New Orleans restaurants in the Birmingham-Hoover metro area, according to the chain’s head of franchising.

Andy Gunkler, chief franchise development officer for Copeland’s, said in a Monday interview that the owner of the Copeland’s in Little Rock has rights to bring the restaurant back to Birmingham and to the Nashville market as well.

Abydos Hospitality could have its Birmingham restaurant open in the next 12 to 18 months, Gunkler said.

“We want to stay close to the roots of New Orleans as we expand into other Southeastern markets,” Gunkler said. “Birmingham is an excellent market for us.”
