Mr. Dan’s Looks To Expand

Indianapolis Star:

Mr. Dan’s Restaurants, one of the oldest names in neighborhood diners in Indianapolis, could be on the verge of a resurgence, riding the hunger for low-cost comfort food, simply prepared close to home. A plan is cooking to franchise the blue-collar eatery’s simple burger, fries and chili concept.

There have been as many as 16 locations across the city over the past 60 years, but now there are just two Mr. Dan’s: one on the Northside at 4390 N. Keystone Ave., and another on the Northeastside at 5925 Massachusetts Ave.

Allan Zukerman and Bill Church, veterans of marketing, promoting and franchising other restaurant chains, including Noble Roman’s, MCL and Roly Poly, have partnered with Mr. Dan’s owner, Richard Hogshire, to recruit franchisees and expand the restaurant brand. More.
