As an executive at a high-end appliances manufacturer in Industry, Rancho Cucamonga resident Bob Lewis enjoyed his work developing products.
The attention to detail and instinct for aesthetics required to get the look just right for the newest blender or oven appliance appealed to him. But in 2008, after 20 years making his way up the ranks to executive, Lewis received a pink slip.
The company he’d help build had fallen on hard times, and like thousands of other Americans in the economic downturn of 2008, Lewis lost his job.
