Entrepreneur Peter LaColla has always had a passion for satisfying people’s needs in ways that beat the competition for convenience. And for many years
now, he and his partner, Dan McCabe, have been franchising convenience stores in malls. Under the “Street Corner’ brand, their storefronts and kiosks offer candy, gum, cigarettes, lottery tickets and other items. Their claim to fame is providing unlimited refills for sodas from their soda fountains.
LaColla said the current economy is working in their favor.
“People will deny themselves an expensive luxury in this economy, but they won’t deny themselves a candy bar,” he said.
