Ruth’s Sales Numbers Improve

Lake Mary-based Ruth’s Hospitality Group showed sales increases in its most recent earnings report, but chief executive officer Michael O’Donnell warned last week that the environment still remains “choppy.”

Ruth’s Chris Steak House, the company’s flagship chain, had its first positive sales numbers at established restaurants in three years for the quarter ending June 27. Company executives noted in a conference call with analysts that July sales remained positive for Ruth’s Chris compared with the previous year, but they went down for Mitchell’s Fish Market.

The company noted that in six restaurants, it is testing changes including background music and uniforms.
