The Fantastic Sams Hair Salons franchise has announced plans to expand its Connecticut footprint beyond its one current location in Groton into New Haven.
Scott Colabuono, chief executive officer of Fantastic Sams, said the company has plans for nine salons in the region. Currently, there are 1,300 nationwide and Colabuono wants to double in size over the next few years.
“While many brands have protected their spending in 2009, we continued to market, spend and grow our brand. Even during this down-turned economy, there is opportunity. Our business model of affordable in-salon services combined with our investment model continued to drive franchise inquiries and our salon opening pipeline,†he said.
The franchise has recruited the members of its executive team from other popular brands and industries such as Pepsi, Church’s Chicken, Burger King, Dunkin’ Donuts and others.
