Free Seminar On Starting Your Own Business Is Oct. 27

The Cleveland State Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and FranNet arepresenting a free educational seminar on starting your own business and franchising at the Cleveland Bradley County Library on Oct. 27 from 2–3:30 p.m. Brenda Sheehy, director of the SBDC, and Jerry Bird, East Tennessee franchise specialist with FranNet will be discussing the advantages and disadvantages of both concepts.

Ms. Sheehy is going to provide a step-by-step path to follow in order to own and operate a small business. This path includes evaluating your abilities, validating your business concept, understanding your profit potential, determining your financing potential, writing your business plan, etc. Mr. Bird will provide a general overview of franchising, as well as pros and cons to help participants determine if it is right for them.
