Waffle House Won’t Reopen On Turner McCallac

Rome News Tribune:

An Aug. 28 fire has spelled the end of the line for Rome’s first Waffle House at 601 Turner McCall Blvd.

The franchisees, Lookout Waffles, an operating arm of Marketplace Investments, will build a new Waffle House on U.S. 411 east in front of the Jameson Inn, near Cook’s Pest Control.

Don Lewis, a partner with Marketplace Investments in Chattanooga, has confirmed that the franchisee has submitted plans for the new Waffle House to the Rome-Floyd Building Inspection office for review. “It’s a pretty good place out there; we just need something that’s got more parking area,” said Lewis.
