For decades, Briggs Freeman Real Estate Brokerage has been a well-known player in Dallas-area residential sales.
But CEO Robbie Briggs worries that the boutique sales firm – which has more than 350 listings, mostly in close-in neighborhoods – isn’t getting enough recognition in the fast-growing suburbs.
“I can go out to Southlake, and a lot of people have no idea who we are,” said Briggs, whose father started the independent company in 1960. “For us to penetrate that market as deeply as I think we can, we need the recognition from a name that will make an even bigger impact.”
So, starting this week, Briggs Freeman will become the newest franchisee of Sotheby’s International Realty.
The company has 140 sales agents working out of a single office on Lovers Lane, and Briggs said that he has turned away franchise opportunities for years.
