Sophie’s Cuban Cuisine Franchising, Inc. announced today that their first franchisee, Tom Chamberlain of Haworth, NJ,
with his new partner, Alvin Lopez of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, has opened his second franchised Sophie’s Cuban Cuisine restaurant.
This restaurant is at 21 W. 45th Street (5th & 6th) in Midtown Manhattan, NY. Mr. Chamberlain, who had a long executive career with Affinia Hospitality Group before becoming a Sophie’s franchisee in 2008, said: “After spending my whole professional career in the Hotel Industry, the opportunity to join an established family business in a popular lunch concept was quite appealing. I am very happy to be able to expand my business so soon. This association with the Sophie’s brand should provide financial independence for me and my family.†Alvin, also a longtime hotel and restaurant pro most recently as the General Manager at the Shelburne Murray Hill Hotel where he ran one of the most successful hotel food service and roof top clubs in New York, said: “Now that we have joined forces again we will combine our talents to make this restaurant a great success and build more Sophie’s restaurants from there.â€
