Australians ‘Clueless’ About Running A Franchise

Almost a quarter of Australian franchise owners have major disputes with their parent company, often taking legal action.

This year almost one in 10 franchisees left their business and a third complained that they were being ignored by the franchise owners, according to the Franchising Australia 2010 report.

Report co-author Professor Lorelle Frazer said the heart of the problem was many franchise owners did not have a good understanding of what they were buying.

“That has been the case for the 12 years we have been compiling these reports and we need to find out why,” he said. Read more.
