Apollo Hospitals To Buy Out Franchisee-Run Clinics

mydigitalfc.com:

Apollo Hospitals plans to buy out its franchisee-operated clinics even as it upgrades its own clinics with surgery facilities.

There are 51 Apollo clinics that are operated by franchisees. These are mainly doctor-owned and have been functioning under the Apollo brand for years. However, in many of the clinics, the second-generation franchisees, who are not medical professionals, are not much interested in running them.

It is in this backdrop that Apollo has decided to buy them back within five to six years’ time. According to sources close to the development, negotiations are on with four or five franchisees. Further, Apollo is introducing facilities for surgery in its own clinics.
