Five Midas stores in Northern Nevada and one in Northern California recently lost their franchises and were forced to close their doors.
Two of the six Midas stores are in Reno. All of the outlets are owned by Mallard Group Ltd.
“That would have been in mid-December,” said Bob Troyer, director of corporate affairs for Midas, of the closings. “We terminated the franchise we had in place and we terminated the relationships with that franchise.”
Pending legal issues prevents Midas from commenting further on the nature of the closures, Troyer said.
