A program to help give students a better chance at life by improving their school grades has taken another step forward with the appointment of its first paid executive director.
The Success Through Active Role modeling program (STAR) program, which encourages local businessmen and women to act as role models to high school kids in Corsicana and Kerens, appointed Ken Frost, 54, in a part-time role at the end of last month to help manage operations and administrative duties.
Around 80 role models currently take part in activities relating to the non-profit organization. With the appointment of Frost, the organization is looking to move forward and better serve students in the community. Read more.
