Gerry Harvey To ‘Cannibalise’ His Stores To Help Online Strategy

Harvey Norman chairman Gerry Harvey admits his online store will compete directly with his own franchisees in order to reach an online annual turnover of more than $1 billion within the next decade.

Mr Harvey announced last month he would be launching an online store in order to counter the threat of e-tailers, which have become increasingly popular on the back of the strong dollar.

He has now detailed the first part of the internet plan is to launch a centralised online store in June or July, The Australian Financial Review reports today. Read more.
