Bradenton Herald:
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation recently awarded much-needed bunker gear worth $16,200 to the Trailer Estates Volunteer Fire Department. This bunker gear will replace outdated and non-compliant gear, providing firefighters with a safe uniform to better serve the community. Since 2005, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has donated more than $1 million to public safety entities in the state of Florida.
“You never know when you or someone close to you will be personally impacted by the life-saving capabilities of a first responder,†said Patrick Ryan, franchisee of the Bradenton location. “These heroes deserve the best tools, training and technology and our Foundation is here to help make that happen.â€
Each restaurant recycles leftover, five-gallon pickle buckets and sells them to customers. Donation canisters on register counters explain the nonprofit’s mission and collect spare change.
