IFA Holds National Committee On F&B Franchising

The first National Committee on Franchising in Food and Beverage industry (F&B) was organised by Indian Franchise Association (IFA) on July 1st in Noida. Top patrons from the Food and Beverage industry came together at for interactions and knowledge sharing on various topics related to the best practices, regulatory issues and future trends in the industry. The industry is still in nascent stage and is growing rapidly but at the same time is facing various challenges that need to be met boldly. The most common of these is; paucity of trained manpower and poor productivity of the present human resource.

Beside these, there are some other problems such as taxation, licensing and real estate which effect the growth in this sector. Sanjay Coutinho, Chairman, IFA National Committee on franchising in food, beverages & hospitality and CEO, Barista Coffee Company Ltd, said, “The biggest challenge that I find is that it is yet not recognised by the government.”
