Your Donuts Equaled Big Dollars

Patch.com:

In December, we told you about how a special promotion at Dunkin’ Donuts could equal big cash for the MUSC Children’s Hospital.

On Wednesday, the coffee and sweet-shop chain made good on the promotion, turning over $11,000 to the downtown Charleston hospital.

The donation benefits the Child Life program, the only department of its kind in the Lowcountry offering diverse services designed to meet the psychosocial needs of infants, children, adolescents and their families.

“Hospital and medical experiences can be upsetting for children and may interfere with normal childhood activities,” said Sandra C. Oberman, M.Ed., CCLS Manager, Child Life Department, MUSC Children’s Hospital. “This wonderful donation will help us reach our goals of providing the best in psychosocial support for pediatric patients.”

The funds were collected by Dunkin’ Donuts franchises operated by Coastal Franchising throughout the region as part of a recent “Cups for Kids” charity effort.
