Make Money Promoting Infidelity?

By on April 6, 2009 in Ideas

There are dating websites that cater to every kind of desire, including it seems, those looking for an affair. Sad but true. NPR has more:

AshleyMadison.com, which caters to men and women who are already in relationships and are looking for something more, is the largest dating service of its kind. The Toronto-based company has made millions of dollars by helping people cheat on their spouses. Their tag line gets right to the point: “Life is short, have an affair.”

Not surprisingly, they also have an affiliate program. It must be an incredible lucrative setup, because they pay at least $200 per signup!

We’re indeed living in a crazy world! It’s unfortunate that many in the bid for quick money never have a thought about morals. Better to have some decent money than create marital problems for others.

    Thanks for bringing this up.

Divorce is one of the most expensive burdens on the economic. Promoting this service will only further reduce the wealth of everyone.

Unfortunately that is the world we live in. This is not the first time this site has been mentioned, but the fact remains that benefiting from a service that destroys the ties of a marriage is disgraceful. I know people have affairs but to openly promote it seems outright ridiculous. However the acceptance of the site only gives an indicator of the morale compass our world possesses. Give the number of the people that have signed up, things do not look good for our future.

I have to agree with most of you. This site mentioned above is beyond sad. Granted everyone needs and wants to make money somehow, but why does it always seem to be at the expense of others? How would some of the management that runs this site feel if their spouse was one of the one’s going on this site looking for someone to cheat on them with? It is an outrage that these people think it is okay and are happy making money by destroying other peoples lives and breaking up so many homes and families. I wonder how they sleep at night!
