Leverage Google’s Free Tools To Find Niche

Orlando Internet Business Examiner:

Finding the right niche is an important step as you plan and build your web site. You want a specific enough niche so that you don’t have a great deal of competition, but you also do not want too specific of a niche to where nobody knows it exists.

First, let’s look at search volume. I recommend using the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Using this tool, you can input one or more keywords or phrases and Google will output the typical search volume. I recommend targeting a niche that has at least 10,000 monthly searches.

After you have done some analysis on some good keyword to target using the Adwords tool, you will want to do some actual searches on Google. Put your specific keyword phrase into Google using quotations (for example, search for “internet business examiner”). The number of results that come from your search request will let you know how competitive the phrase is.

I recommend targeting a keyword phrase that has under 100,000 results when doing the above search. The ideal balance is if you can do the above two tests and get close to 10,000 / 10,000.
