Inventor Helps Golfers Keep Their Game Moving

Nick Casiello knows a good idea when he sees it. After all, he’s had his fair share of them over the past few years reports the Naperville Sun.

About 13 years ago, the Naperville resident invented the Gotcha, a small hand-held disk with a nylon pull string that measures the distance of a golf ball from the pin. The string is also used as a guide by golfers to help them practice their straight and curved putts.

Through the years, he has sold more than 100,000 of the devices to customers who have included The Masters Tournament, the US Golf Association, The European Tour, the Royal Ancient Golf Club in Scotland, the Arizona Golf Association … and Springbrook Golf Course in Naperville. He also has donated hundreds of Gotchas to the Disabled Angels International Foundation.

But that’s not all. He created a carrier for skis and ski poles several years ago and is currently working on a few other inventions. He holds four patents.

He also enjoys helping other aspiring inventors launch their ideas. Casiello and his wife, Carol, own Cass Enterprises in Lisle, a business which designs brochures, packaging and logos. He has put company logos on thousands of the Gotcha devices purchased by businesses as promotional items.
