Silpada Conference Brings Silver Rush to Kansas City

Kansas City Business Journal:

Kansas City is about to experience a silver rush — a rush to see new Silpada Designs Inc. jewelry, that is.

The Lenexa-based jewelry company will have its 2011 National Conference in Kansas City from Thursday through Sunday. The conference is expected to have an economic impact of almost $4.6 million, according to the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association .

Cori Kallenbach, director of communications for Silpada, said the company expects about 4,400 women from as far away as Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The CVA estimates that 95 percent of the convention’s attendees will be from outside the metro area.

The Silpada representatives will gather to hear testimonials, attend workshops and hear a keynote speaker. The highlight for many, though, is the preview of the new catalog and jewelry.
