University Of Calgary Class To Donate Proceeds From Vector Marketing/Cutco Sales To Children’s Wish Foundation

eMediaWire:

Two senior-level sales management classes at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary (http://www.haskayne.ucalgary.ca/news/news.html) recently set a goal of raising $25,000 from the sale of Cutco cutlery for the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. The students will be trained by representatives of Vector Marketing Corporation, the sole distributor of Cutco.

The announcement was made by Dr. Derek Hassay, assistant professor of marketing, who teaches this experiential learning program, known as “Selling Smiles 101”. The proceeds from these sales will grant the wishes of two local children suffering from Leukemia and cancer. The two elementary school girls are best friends, and their wish is to go to Disney World in March.

“The two girls and their families visited our class earlier this semester and it made a great impact on our students,” said Hassay. “The students realize that they won’t just be learning about sales processes. They will be bringing a great deal of happiness to these two families.”

For several years, Hassay has partnered with Vector Marketing, a direct sales company which trains students how to sell high-end cutlery through in-home personal demonstrations. In four terms, the program has raised over $64,000 for the foundation’s Alberta Chapter.
