Deep Breaths And Family Help In Building Yoga Center

BillingsGazette.com:

Here’s a hint for anyone starting a business: the bigger your family, the better.

Years ago, Aimee Carlson worked at the Yoga Center, and when it went away she missed that yoga crowd. That’s one of the reasons she started The Yoga Spot in Billings, to re-create that healthy and gentle community.

Trouble was, she couldn’t do all the work of starting a business herself and couldn’t afford to have the work hired out to high-priced experts.

“So, I used the expertise of my sister-in-law to set up my Web site and my husband to do the handywork when I needed saws, drills and levels,” said Carlson. “I also used my cousin in Helena, who is a graphic designer, to create my logo.”

She also tapped family and friends to help finish her studio at 2409 Second Ave. N. in Billings.

“I had a huge amount of encouragement and support, and that always gave me the oomph to push through,” she said.
