Mom Pins Hopes On Diapering Business

knoxvillebiz.com:

After having triplets more than three years ago, Sunny Hall turned to cloth diapering to save money.

Today, the Knoxville mom is selling cloth diapers to make money.

Hall is the owner of Cutie Tooties, a retail store that opened last week at 5807 Kingston Pike in Bearden selling natural and organic baby products.

The business, which originally sold only cloth diapers, began nearly two years ago on the Internet.

“At first my husband and mom thought I was crazy, but I said there is a market for it,” Hall said, citing Knoxville as home to one of the largest holistic mom chapters in the country. “Everything is trending green from light bulbs to cars to diapers.”

But even as people watch their wallets, sales of reusable cloth diapers are still going strong, Hall said.

Diaper sales account for about 90 percent of her business.
