Boston Pizza Looking For Cornwall Franchisee

Boston Pizza plans to move to Cornwall once it finds the right location and investor, a company official said.

“I think Cornwall’s a fabulous market and I think we’d do very well in Cornwall,” said Alex Gerzon, director of franchise development with Boston Pizza International.

Gerzon said the company is searching for a franchisee for Cornwall, and he’s hoping to find someone with well-established roots in the city.

Boston Pizza has actually been looking at Cornwall for some time now, but previous discussions about potential locations and investors didn’t come to fruition, Gerzon added.

The company official said ideally, it would like to be located along Brookdale Avenue. The former Petro Canada gas station property just south of the Ramada Inn is one of the sites that’s been looked at, Gerzon confirmed.

The total investment for a new Boston Pizza restaurant – including the building, equipment and other related start-up costs – is $2.2 million.

An investor or group of investors would need to come up with $650,000, and the company would help to secure financing for the remaining amount.
