Ding-dong, it’s the Tupperware Lady calling.
That would be Linda Manning, 63, the vivacious Tupperware sales consultant from Lansing.
“I would make tremendous money if I quit buying it for myself,†said Manning, crowned La Crescent Apple Annie for 2006.
After 29 years as an activities coordinator at a local nursing home, Manning started selling Tupperware in August.
She signed up for a starter kit at her daughter-in-law’s Tupperware party, and before she knew it, she was a consultant.
“It’s really important to read that fine print,†she said.
But the experience turned out to be a hoot, she said, and her goal was simple.
“I didn’t want to get into debt,†she said. “That’s not good for the marriage.â€
She also decided to make every one of her clients a friend.
“Before we’re done, we’re going to be, by golly,†she said.
