Sarasota Herald-Tribune:

A survey in the just-released July issue of Consumer Reports magazine put First Watch Restaurants at the top of the list in the “Family” category of rated establishments.

With a score of 86 out of a possible 100, the Bradenton-based chain, founded in 1983, topped 22 others in the category, including such industry stalwarts as Bob Evans (81), Cracker Barrel (79) and Denny’s (73).

The magazines have not yet hit stores, but Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch, is keeping his eye out. He plans to buy as many issues as he can get his hands on.

“We’re very excited,” Tomasso said. “And that excitement has spread throughout the entire organization, all 80 restaurants in 11 states. We’ve sent out a lot of attaboys and attagirls.” Read more.
