Franchise Key:
Last month, SUBWAY® (UK) announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the leading national charity Heart Research UK, marking a joint commitment to encourage people across the UK and Ireland to eat better and lead healthier lifestyles by not only providing SUBWAY® customers with choice in store, but through a national fundraising campaign to raise money for HRUK Healthy Heart community projects and pioneering medical research.
According to the information provided, Heart Research UK is encouraging consumers, as part of their healthy balanced diet, to choose one of SUBWAY®’s ‘Low Fat’ Subs, which, as part of other planned initiatives, will help to promote healthy hearts.
The SUBWAY® chain is, it says, committed to offering its customers choice and both organisations understand the need for a holistic approach to health and wellbeing where nutrition and diet are as important as lifestyle and fitness.
Juliette Kellow, the SUBWAY® chain’s nutritionist, said: “Sandwiches can make an important contribution to a balanced, healthy diet especially if they are made with wholewheat bread, skip the butter and mayo and include low-fat fillings and plenty of salad. It’s all about choice. With today’s busy lifestyles, eating on the move is a necessity for many of us and lower-fat sandwiches provide both convenience and a better-for-you option than many traditional fast foods.”
