Figueroa Street, in Highland Park, California.
“It’s been an incredible year, and I want to thank everyone in the community for their loyalty and support,†Renfro said. “My business has grown steadily over the past year, because we offer what no other video game store offers. Our customers can buy, rent, sell, trade-in and pre-order games, drop off consoles or discs for repairs, compete in tournaments, play games before they buy them, and can rent our ‘Pro Player’ room for private parties or a few hours of game play. We have worked hard on doing things that really fulfill what the name means. We are truly a Gamer ‘Doc.’ Our repair service is second to none. I feel like I’ve earned a PhD in motherboards.â€
Renfro is a resident of Highland Park, and his store is in a location he specifically sought out, because he wanted to bring something new and exciting to the community that would also contribute to the local economy. The store is eco-friendly, built from 80% recycled materials, with solar panels on the roof for generating electricity, and no plastic bags are used.
