- Not backing up your data. This is one of the most catastrophic mistakes a business owner could ever make. You run the huge risk of losing tons of vital information to your company. To avoid this mistake, simply back up your data at the end of every business day.
- Having messy work habits. Whether you work in an office or at home in your pajamas you need to remember that you are still doing real actual work that matters to your company. So always stay focused and on task otherwise the people around you will think you’re not working at all.
- Turning yourself into a hermit, never to be seen or heard from. Just because you work from home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stay in contact with your clients as well as the rest of your work team. Send out periodic emails, put in a phone call every other day to check in or even schedule a day once a week or even every other week to show up at the office to show yourself as well as to check in with the rest of your team.
- Forgetting your boundaries. Your home office is still a office where you conduct work just the same as you would outside of your home. Make sure you have well set boundaries that you can stick to at home otherwise your work as well as your home life will be effected in negative ways. A simple door to your office that you can close during work hours as well as at the end of your work day can do wonders.
