Mary Kay Adds A Little Gloss To Vineland

The Daily Journal:

The city’s newest business gave Wood Street a little color Friday afternoon.

A light pink Cadillac was parked outside the new Mary Kay Training Center as 14 women and a few city officials marked the grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The training center — a small room with a table lined with makeup mirrors — welcomes local residents interested in selling Mary Kay products or looking for tips on better skin care, said Teresa Lischwe, who is one of three directors at the center.

“Our mission — the company’s mission — is to enrich women’s lives,” Lischwe said.

The Vineland center already has roughly 45 people between independent beauty consultants and directors, Hermila Saavedra, another director, said.

Consultant Maribel Bermejo said the office is the county’s first official training center. They previously had been meeting in a consultant’s home.

Bermejo said it costs $100 to get a starter kit and training equipment, so it’s like starting a business for $100.
