KFC Appeals Against Rotherham Restaurant Refusal

Fast-food giant KFC is fighting a decision to block its plans for a new South Yorkshire outlet that would have brought restaurant jobs to Rotherham.

The fried chicken chain had applied to build a restaurant in Canklow, but Rotherham Council rejected the submission in July.

Canklow Woods Primary School launched a petition to stop the eatery being opened just 40m from its main entrance.

A spokesperson for the proposed KFC franchisee said the original plans had been rejected on grounds of noise, but that these concerns had been addressed within the appeal.
