Davao City’s Blugre Café has an interesting take on making coffee. They brew it up with durian, the fruit which hotels and airlines around the region have banned for its notoriously stinky odor.
Now, after awarding 20 franchises up and down the Philippines and bagging boxing icon Manny Pacquiao as one of its backers, its managers say investors overseas are now applying to open up Blugre Café coffee shops around the world, especially in places with large Filipino populations.
“This is the company’s first time to venture outside Mindanao and even outside the country,†said Blugre’s president Gloria Cuaresma, pointing out that the company is looking at expanding either through franchising or by investing in potential markets. More.
