Greg Drouillard may join a select list – including guys named Jobs and Wozniak – who started a digital revolution from their home garages.
The “it,” a technology called “Natural Light Labeling,” may not have quite the impact of Apple computers. But Drouillard’s laser technology could have global reach.
The machine uses infrared laser light to etch a label on citrus fruit, eliminating the need for sticky paper labels.
“I’m very relieved. Now we can move forward,” Etxeberria said. “This represents a breakthrough in technology in general. This technology is transferable to labels on other foods and non-foods.”
