Son Inspires Bottle Tag Invention

KeloLand.com:

After almost losing her three-month-old baby boy to a respiratory infection, Evie Clercx was inspired to launch her own business. Her bling bottle tag invention was something she’d never thought she’d do.

Aidan was diagnosed when he was three months old with RSV, a respiratory illness. Once Aidan was ready to come home, the family knew they had to stop the spread of germs.

“It really forced us to think hand washing, cleanliness, not sharing things even among family members. After he got out of the hospital, we went to a family reunion and there are kids everywhere and a zillion water bottles and I said someone should invent something that allows you to know which bottle is yours,” Clercx said.

So Clercx thought of an idea to label the family’s plastic water bottles and that’s when her business plan was put into action.

“Something as simple as clicking something on the neck of your bottle to distinguish what’s yours,” Clercx said.

Aquabling was created a year later and Clercx has her son to thank for the inspiration.
