The mantle of hamburger fame is weighing heavily on the shoulders of Mayor Brad Woodside.
Secretly, he confesses, he would like to sink his teeth into a Big Texas, with its smoky barbecue sauce and pepper cheese, or perhaps The Great One, with its cheddar cheese, bacon and roasted garlic mayo, at Relish Gourmet Burgers at its 328 King St. location.
But the Brad Burger – prepared by co-owner and chef Ray Henry according to Woodside’s specifications – is lagging behind the Big Texas and he’s determined to bolster the numbers.
Of 1,500 burgers sold since Henry and Rivers Corbett opened the business this month, 173 have been Brad Burgers.
“I wanted to try something else, but I have to keep the burger numbers up,” Woodside lamented Friday as he munched on yet another Brad Burger. Read full story.
