Franchising is one of those industries littered with stories about individuals turning misfortunes in one professional field into success with another. For the husband and wife pairing of Neeraj and Bala Sahejpal, and Pramod and Ravinder Gaud, it is just such a circumstance that led them to Kiddie Academy.
Together they currently co-own two Kiddie Academy franchises, one in San Jose and another in Mountain View.
Bala Sahejpal triggered their entrance into the franchising sector when she lost her job in the high-tech industry in 2005 and instead of immediately looking for a similar position decided to nose around into some other options. At that time, she was also a new mother to her second child, so an education-related venture appealed to her and when they looked into franchising the business proposition was too good to pass up.
