Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Cafe, with three retail locations and a bagel-making plant in the Hartford area, is seeking to expand by selling franchises.
The small chain, based in South Windsor with a store in that town as well as Manchester and the Rockville section of Vernon, was founded in 1990 by brothers Jerry & Joe Puiia. The firm is making the move as the bagel and bakery cafe segment continues to thrive in the restaurant industry.
The company is hoping to sell to operators of between three and 10 locations in the Northeast, between Washington D.C. and Maine.
