Promart Retail India, the discount retailer of branded apparel focused on emerging small towns in India, is planning to boost its store network by almost 50 per cent by signing up new franchises across India.
“We have received expressions of interest from 200 franchisees to open stores,†Punit Agarwal, CEO at Promart told Financial Chronicle. The company will decide how many of these to accept in a fortnight. If it accepts all then it could potentially increase its store count by almost 50 per cent over the current level of signed franchisee stores.
The franchisees who have expressed interest hail from tier II to tier VI towns. This is in tune with the retailers focus on small town India where the exposure to cable and satellite TV has increased aspiration levels.
