With the snow comes an opportunity for entrepreneurial kids: shoveling snow. According to KSDK.com, Max Nissen received a John Deere tractor for Christmas. While that might seem like an unusual gift for 12 year old kid, it’s not so unusual if that kid hopes to make a little money every time snow falls in his neighborhood.
He charges $25 for each home. On a good day, Nissen said he can make at least $200 in one day.
“Sooner or later I’m going to have to start paying for my stuff. I plan to have savings and all that,” Nissen said.
“I thought it was kind of a ridiculous Christmas present for a boy to get a tractor,” said neighbor Michelle Harris. “I thought he can’t ride around the streets in it, what’s he going to do with it? Little did I know he was going to start a business venture.”
Nissen said his friends were surprised but some of them were also inspired to follow in his footsteps.
